Using Xdmx, which is an X Window proxy, it is possible to have multiple monitors displaying as a single virtual desktop. The additional monitors can be extensions of the desktop or mirrors of the central display. The arrangement of these monitors can be configured within the properties tab in the windows display dialog box, making horizontal, vertical, or other monitor configurations possible.
