Cambridge University students brings out “Bethany”

Cambridge University students worked and developed “Bethany”. Actually this “Bethany” is a new Solar Car.

Features :
This car can run at 60 mph
This energy is very low, approximately the same amount of energy used to run a conventional hairdryer
this energy is generate by using an array of high-efficiency silicon cells(energy generated from the sun) which together creates the car’s solar skin
Includes regenerative braking systems recharging the car’s batteries each time the brakes are applied
Latest Computer Simulation Softwares are a part of its design
This gives it the ability to run at 50 times less power than a normal petrol-fuelled vehicle
Weighs just 170 Kg

This car has competed in the World Solar Challenge Race in June from Darwin to Adelaide, a distance of over 3,000km. The technology used in the car does give it the edge.

This car cost - £200,000 which is much high and cannot be used as commercial cars.
